A Japanese "raccoon dog" named Tanu has become a star on the Internet.
According to Uproxx, the creature is a tanuki, which spends most of its time sleeping because it is winter and it is hibernating.
The tanuki's owner, Twitter user chibi_tori, told BuzzFeed News he found Tanu in June 2015, after it had been abandoned.
While they look like dogs, tanukis do not bark, but rather whine and growl like foxes.
Their cries are higher-pitched than cats or dogs, notes BuzzFeed News.
