Actress Pamela Anderson recently offered a defense for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and men who are falsely accused of rape (video below).
Assange has been living in the Ecuadorian embassy in London since June 2012 due to allegations of sexual violence against women in Sweden, which has been trying to extradite him. Assange has denied the allegations, and asserted that he would be extradited from Sweden to the U.S.
Anderson told RT.com that she wants to campaign for men who are falsely accused of rape, which included Assange:
Sweden has these very progressive laws [against sexual crimes]. It’s almost too progressive, it’s almost paralyzing, where I’m going to actually start campaigning for men who have been victims of being accused of rape when they haven’t done anything because it really...

We all of course gravitate towards vulnerable people and we consider that to be women and children first and foremost, which is important of course, but there’s also a lot of men who are in a vulnerable situation and politically bullied.
And in this case, it's obviously a lot of politics. I think Sweden doesn’t really know what to do. And we have to just make it known, the findings in the case. When you read the actual case, and when you read everything about it, there’s no crime that’s been committed.
According to RT.com, there have been unsubstantiated rumors of a romance between Assange and Anderson, who has visited the controversial activist.
Assange recently spoke about their relationship with an Australian radio program, the "Kyle & Jackie O Show," noted The Sun:

Yeah, a lot of people want to know that which is helpful to draw attention to the situation, but, uh, Pamela Anderson’s an impressive figure. She’s an attractive person and an attractive personality and whip-smart. She’s no idiot at all -- psychologically she’s very savvy.
Assange was asked if he was in love with her, but hedged his answer:
Over the last two years, she has done more to try and get this Australian, me, out of detention without charge than the combination of the governments of Gillard, Rudd, Abbott and Turnbull. I mean, I like her, she’s great, but I’m not going to go into the private details...
Basically, you’ve got people like Pamela Anderson who are independent because they kind of manage their own career… She can’t really be squeezed by, you know, a TV executive.
Anderson recently shared about Assange on the UK TV show "Loose Women":
He's living in dire circumstances so I like to bring a little help and a smile and some glamor. It's so rare that he has someone to come and visit him and bring him things, and I want to be able to do that for him. It's about support and I believe in what he is doing. Thank god for him. He's sacrificed a lot for all of us.
According to RT.com, Anderson has said that she and Assange are "just good friends."
