An MSNBC reporter was corrected on-air for suggesting that a Palestinian who charged at Israeli police with a knife was not armed (video below).

Reporter Ayman Mohyeldin was recapping the attack he witnessed in Israel, when he began to suggest that the Palestinian who was seen wielding a knife was not armed when police got to him, according to The Blaze.

“Both of his hands were open and both of his hands did not have a knife,” Mohyeldin said.

In the video, posted to YouTube, anchor Jose Diaz-Balart then interrupts and shows a photo of the man charging at police, with a knife clearly in his left hand and an unidentified object in his right.

“We can clearly see the man … with what appears to be, at least in his right hand, a knife,” Diaz-Balart said.

Mohyeldin then clarified that he was attempting to make the point that the attacker’s hands were empty when authorities “secured the body.”
