Mexican Government Won't Pay For Donald Trump's Wall On Border

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has repeatedly said that he will make Mexico pay for an enormous wall to be built on the U.S.-Mexico border (videos below).

Trump told Bill O'Reilly on Fox News earlier this month:

I'm gonna say, "Mexico, guess what? This is not gonna continue, you're gonna pay for the wall," and I've said they're gonna pay for the wall and they will pay for the wall. And Bill, it's peanuts, compared to the money we're talking about.

Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity earlier this week that Mexico would simply give the U.S. the money for the wall, or he would charge them a tariff, notes Mother Jones.

However, Eduardo Sanchez, a spokesman for Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, told Bloomberg Politics on Wednesday that Trump's promise was not happening:

Of course it’s false. It reflects an enormous ignorance for what Mexico represents, and also the irresponsibility of the candidate who’s saying it.

Mexicans in the U.S. work with passion, they do their jobs well. His comments reflect an enormous lack of knowledge of the reality in the U.S.
