Massive explosions at an industrial warehouse located in Tianjin, China, reportedly killed at least 17 people and injured hundreds more on Wednesday night (video below).
CNN notes that Xinhau, a news agency run by China's government, reported that the blasts ripped up a warehouse that housed "dangerous and chemical goods."
Nine firefighters have died, but it's not known if they are included in the total dead.
The China Earthquake Networks Center stated that two of the explosions were equal to earthquakes of 2.3 and 2.9, notes CNN.
Uproxx.com reports that CCTV, a state-run media, notes that the fireballs were caused by explosives that caught fire while being shipped in the port city.
