Five men, who allegedly did not have hunting licenses, were recently attacked by a lion on a private game farm near the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Matome Mahlale, one of the hunters, was killed by the big cat.

"Three men managed to climb into a tree and another managed to escape, but the deceased and two dogs were mauled to death," Colonel Ronel Otto, local police spokesman, told the Daily Express.

"There won't be many people feeling sorry for him," an unidentified local added. "This is seen as poetic justice for the death of Cecil."

Cecil the lion lived in the Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe until he was killed by Walter Palmer, an American, in July.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

The killing of the rare black-maned lion sparked outrage around the world, but the Zimbabwe government announced on Oct. 12 that it would not be charging Palmer with any crimes.

"We approached the police and then the prosecutor general, and it turned out that Palmer came to Zimbabwe because all the papers were in order," Environment Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri told the media at the time, noted Reuters.

After clearing the 56-year-old dentist, Muchinguri-Kashiri said that Palmer could no longer visit Zimbabwe as a hunter, but simply as a tourist.
