Jockey Blake Shinn came close to winning a horse race on April 23, even though his pants fell down.

Shinn's buttocks were fully exposed as his horse, Miss Royale, galloped to the finish line at the Canterbury Race Course in Australia, noted the Daily Mirror (video below).

Miss Royale lost by a head to a horse named Defender, but came in second ahead of third place finisher Modesty.

Shinn suffered the televised wardrobe malfunction while cracking Miss Royale with his whip.

"I was more worried about winning the race. They (the pants) went just after the start and there was nothing I could do," Shinn told The Sydney Morning Herald. "I think a lot of people are going to have a bit of fun with this, but they can't say I wasn't focused and went to the line."

Miss Royale's owner, Richard Pegum, who is in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, was surprised when his phone began ringing.

He reportedly asked Fairfax Media, "Did she (Miss Royale) win that well?"

After seeing the video, Pegum added, "Well, five wide with his pants down, he never stopped riding as you would expect from Blake."

Shinn did manage to pull out a win later in the day while riding a horse named Eisenhower.

He later tweeted, "Now I know how Jen Hawkins feels. Tried to give my fellow jocks a bum steer but unfortunately backfired. Should of had my @BondsAus on."
