Video (below) has surfaced of a toddler falling out of the back of a minivan onto a busy road in China.
The dash cam footage shows a 2-year-old boy tumbling out of his grandfather’s minivan and onto the street. After he gets up, the flustered boy begins wandering in the busy streets, looking for his grandfather’s car.
The passengers of the car that recorded the footage got out once they saw the toddler fall out of the minivan and helped get him to safety.
The video cuts to moments later when the child’s grandfather, later identified by Chinese media as Yang Defu, according to CNN, runs to his grandson to retrieve him from the woman who carried him to safety.

Yang explained to CCTV that he had been in a rear-end collision in the minivan several days before the incident. In the accident, he said the van’s tailgate lock had broken. The toddler had reportedly crawled to the back of the van while his grandfather was driving and hit the lock as the van accelerated.
"I was waiting at the red light,” Yang said, according to CNN. “After passing the intersection a car chased after me and kept sounding the horn. The driver told me a kid fell out of my van. I looked back, parked my van aside, and went back to search for my grandson."
Footage of the incident quickly went viral, with many viewers criticizing the grandfather for not using a car seat for his grandson.
