Chinese Woman Gives Birth In Internet Cafe, Keeps Surfing Web

Xiao Li, 24, reportedly gave birth to a baby in the bathroom of an Internet cafe, but continued surfing the web even though she was covered in blood and the umbilical cord was still attached.

The bizarre incident happened at about 4 a.m. on Monday in the Nanchang, Jiangxi province of China, noted the Daily Mail (translating from the Chinese news site People's Daily Online).

A cleaning woman found Li and her baby still attached in the bathroom and called for an ambulance.

The cleaning woman told a TV news station, "There was a lot of blood. It totally blocked the toilet. She initially just stood there shaking and covered in blood but then she sat down and continued surfing."

Li reportedly refused help from the cleaning woman and a stretcher from paramedics; she chose to walk to the ambulance.

According to (translating from the Chinese news site, "[T]he 24-year old woman from Shandong left home and planned to meet her boyfriend in Jiangsu to give birth, but the baby popped out sooner than expected. She is now in the hospital with her baby. It is unknown, however, what exactly she'd been so preoccupied with online at the time."
