Chinese sports commentator Dong Lu fell asleep during a soccer match between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain on Nov. 4. Lu was heard snoring during a live broadcast of the game on LeTV (video below).

The game in Santiago Bernabeu, Spain, began at 3:45 a.m in Beijing, China, where Lu was stationed. He started dozing off with 20 minutes left in the match, reports the Daily Mirror.

While Chinese soccer fans found it funny, LeTV did not and fired Lu, who had 20 years of experience.

Lu apologized, and promised to continue to cover the soccer via his blog, "providing he stays awake," notes ITV News.

Real Madrid won the game, 1-0, and will advance to another round in the UEFA Champions League.
