Woman Loses Insurance Payments Because of Facebook Photos

A Canadian woman on long-term sick leave for depression said she lost her benefits because her insurance agent found photos of her on Facebook in which she appeared to be having fun. The Associated Press has details:

The company stated that it wouldn't terminate her benefits just because of Facebook pictures. Possibly the pictures just sparked an investigation - I'd like to hear more about how "major depression " affects one's ability to do Ms. Blanchard's job, and whether taking a year off due to major depression is normal.
If the company had other reasons for terminating her benefits, the lady is probably lucky they aren't making them public.
This Canadain should have had her benefits taken away. If she was having so much fun then she should not be allowed to draw disability for depression .....She was able to go on vacation...she should be able to work for it..if she went to work maybe she would not have time to sit around feeling sorry for herself
