Wizards Gilbert Arenas Misfires Again, Admits Faking Injury

| by The Daily Heat

The laughs just keep on rolling in with Washington Wizards resident dingbat Gilbert Arenas. Coming off a nifty little bring-your-gat-to-work situation from a season ago, the man who wears a zero on the back of his jersey (representing his IQ and trade value) is taking it down a notch in 2010-11.

This year, instead of threatening his teammates by placing heavy artillery by them in a suggestive manner, Arenas is merely faking injuries in meaningless preseason games and then chuckling about it to reporters. Sign this joker up for the next Kings of Comedy tour.

While speaking with the press in Washington, guard Nick Young mentioned that Arenas had spoken to him about sacrifice. He didn’t elaborate on what that meant, so reporters -- being the curious creatures they are -- ran over to ask Arenas what noble lesson he had been trying to impart on his younger teammate.

“I told him I'd sacrifice playing tonight so he'd get some time,” Gilbert said. “Because I know he's kind of frustrated not getting a chance to crank it up at the three position, especially since we're going three guards. So I told him I'd fake an injury or say something's wrong with me. So that's why he said sacrifice."

Well, that would have been a nice gesture -- you know, lying to your coach and employer -- had Captain Shoot ‘Em Up not informed the entire free world of it.
