Video: Justin Long and Mike White Depict Gay Marriage
Actors Justin Long and Mike White star in "Devin and Glenn," a short film that's part of the "Make Homosexuals Marry" campaign. The campaign was created to keep the "No on Proposition 8" debate alive, and to use humor to promote ongoing dialogue about gay marriage issues. The movie intends to show that gay marriage is just like straight marriage - with all the same ups and downs.
The short depicts a gay couple's relationship. Devin and Glenn first meet at a Gay Pride parade. Next we see them getting married in a traditional Jewish ceremony, and feeding each other wedding cake. They get a dog, and buy their first house together. Soon they begin experiencing many of the same marriage-related trials and tribulations as straight folks do: annoying in-laws, pee on the toilet seat, and boredom with each other.
Will Speck and Josh Gordon wrote and directed "Devin and Glenn." All the cast and crew worked for free on the project.

Gays are being beaten, shot at, sent to the hospital, killed . In the Middle East, they are killing gays among other groups out of hatred. Is this what we want America to become? Do we want America to revert back to the 1960's when groups were killed and segregated against for simply no good reason? Do we want to follow the ways of the Middle East and Al Queda? Let's push forward, it's time to end bigotry , discrimination , hate, and ignorance. This is modern America, not the Dark Ages.

"I am not sure what our President thinks of this dicission but coming from a poor family and knowing what discrimination is all about I would assume he would not care if "Gays" have equal rights. The whole reason why they are asking for rights to be considered married is from the same reason why I would be for it. My own life partner commited suicide in our home with a gun to his heart. After a 28 year union I was deprived to even go his funeral . We had two plots next to each other. But because we did not have a marriage cirtificate "(Legal Document)" of our union his mother had him cremated and his ashes taken back to Missouri where we came from. That happened on March 21 of 2007 and I still cannot type this without crying for the trauma I have to endure each day. Oh did I mention I am in an electric wheelchair for life? Yes I am and it is very diffacult to find another mate when you are 58 and in a wheelchair. "

For those of you claiming homosexuality is a "lifestyle", that is a false and ignorant statement. Homosexuality is not a choice. Just like you don't choose the color of your skin, you cannot choose whom you are sexually attracted to. If you can, sorry, but you are not heterosexual, you are bi-sexual. There is overwhelming scientific evidence that homosexuality is not a choice. Sexual orientation is generally a biological trait that is determined pre-natally, although there is no one certain thing that explains all of the cases. "Nurture" may have some effect, but for the most part it is biological.

To those of you using the Bible as a weapon against homosexuality , you are wrong . Homosexuality is not a sin. The Bible is constantly being taken out of context to support anti- gay views. Scholars who have studied the Bible in context of the times and in relation to other passages have shown those passages (Leviticus, Corinthians, Romans, etc) have nothing to do with homosexuality. These passages often cherry-picked while ignoring the rest of the Bible. The sins theses passages are referring to are idolatry, Greek temple sex worship, prostitution , pederasty with teen boys, and rape , not homosexuality or two loving consenting adults.

Thats why Jesus never mentions it as well. There is nothing immoral, wrong, or sinful about being gay. Jesus, however, clearly states he HATES hypocrites. If you preach goodness, then promote hate and twist the words of the Bible, you are a hypocrite, and will be judged and sent to hell. Homosexuals will not go to hell, hypocrites will.
This is very similar to the religious bigots of the past, where they took Bible passages to condone slavery, keep women down, and used Bible passages to claim blacks as curses who should be enslaved by the white man. People used God to claim that blacks marrying whites was unnatural, and not of God's will.
is that the gay community has to do anything at all to quell bigotry . I am not sure (again confusing) what is offensive? the grocery shopping? the beer belly? the family suv? or are you just saying that a gay couple acting (being) a couple are offensive... I am assyming by your avitar you are gay..or 'friendly' with the thought process you are showing it is more of what we are fighting against. You should not see a gay couple showing there life as possibly offinsive to anyone. It really wasn't 'extreme', was it?

The most interesting thing to me about the gay community is that the behavior is so universal. You dont have to study or observe, you just are. And while that is SO normal to me and other members of the community, it is extreme to a lot of the straight world. They cannot understand how a person can be attracted to the same sex and or have an intimate relationship. And for the benefit of the doubt I dont think it is in general a response that is hard to understand. SO! I was confused that this film is so natually gay for the members of the community, it is a peek inside that the straight world does not experience on a daily basis and to me was probably more then a lot would expect to see.
Also, I agree that is sad that we have to struggle to be allowed to exist in equality to the "normal" people. But honestly, most sexual encounters that are displayed on TV between men and women do not seem normal to me.(I hope that made sense) and I was married a hundred years ago and have two sons.
Now having said that I would have to tell you I was confused about your comment about the grocery shopping etc. Was that just a comment about what we all do gay or straight or am I missing the point?
I appreciate your view about the comment, and maybe I am trying to hard to justify our existence. I have met some people on this site that I think were able to see or maybe understand that gay and straight are not two different planets from our discussions. That made me feel relevant in some way.
first of all, a straight audience would not see the humor and the parallel because of the bluntness, it would be viewed as just offensive. And gay people who can see the humor and the point dont need any help understanding the issue. So I am not sure that this will really accomplish anything.
It is so unfortunate that the gay community has to go to such extremes for acceptance and equality.
