Confirmed: Eagles Michael Vick has Fracture

| by Off The Record

Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick clearly got leveled at the one-yard line against the Washington Redskins on Sunday. And he clearly suffered some rib and chest injuries as a result.

However, we were told that there was no fractures in his ribs, but only cartilage damage (like that’s any better?).

Then Vick went on Bruce Smith’s radio show and indicated otherwise.

“There is some cartilage damage up in there and a small fracture up in there, so maybe a week, maybe two weeks,” Vick said. “We’ll have to see. I’ve got some cartilage damage up in there, in the upper area of my ribs. I just have to work through it. I’ve always been a quick healer. It won’t be no more than one, two weeks hopefully. Hopefully.

“I’m feeling good, despite the rib injury. I’m fighting through it. Overall, I’m feeling well.”

So, what can he do to help himself heal? Pretty much nothing at all.

“The most important thing is just rest,” Vick said. “There is really nothing you can do for a rib injury, especially in the upper part of your rib cage. I’ll get rest, I’ve got a Hyperbaric machine and I’ll be spending a lot of time in that trying to restore my blood cells. I’ll stay in the treatment room, getting ice for it and just trying to get movement.”

Until Vick returns, have fun with Kevin Kolb, Eagles fans!
