A Utah mother is under arrest, accused of trying to sell her 13-year-old daughter's virginity for $10,000.

Opposing Views is withholding the name of the woman to protect the girl. The mother is charged with two first-degree felony counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and two second-degree felony counts of sex exploitation of a minor. The felony counts carry penalties of up to life in prison.

According to Salt Lake County prosecutor Sim Gill, the woman promised a man that the girl would perform sex acts on him for $10,000. Gill told The Salt Lake Tribune that she confessed to the deal.

Gill also said the girl told police that she agreed to do it, but later decided she didn't want to go through with it.

The alleged plot unraveled after the woman's boyfriend found text messages between the man and the mother outlining the deal. He reported her to police.

Gill said the woman also sent pictures of her daughter modeling lingerie to another man in exchange for cash.

Gill did not say if police have identified any of the men involved in this case.
