Universal Scores: 'Despicable Me' Rules Weekend Box Office

| by
"Despicable Me" was the big winner this weekend. Universal's CG flick blew out projections and surprised critics, making more than the #2 and 3 films in the top ten combined.
The other newcomer this week didnt fare quite as well. "Predators" couldn't compete with glittery vampires and shirtless hunk-boys landed in third place, behind Twilight.
Meanwhile, "The Last Airbender" continues to stink up the room like a fart in an elevator. M. Night Shamalamadingdong's anime adap was the biggest loser of the weekend, falling 57% and landing in 5th place.
And falling out of the top ten was "Shrek Forever After" and "Get Him to the Greek."
