Albuquerque, New Mexico, Police Detective Jacob Grant was reportedly shot several times by Police Lt. Greg Brachle during an undercover drug bust in January (video below).
Grant and Detective Holly Garcia were sitting in a car with two suspects outside a McDonald's after completing a meth deal with the suspects when Garcia signaled for the arrest to begin, The Free Thought Project notes.
Brachle, who was also undercover and in charge of the drug sting, suddenly opened fire on the vehicle, according to the Albuquerque Police Department.
Garcia was injured, but Grant barely survived the shooting; there were fears that he might lose his arm.

The Albuquerque Police Department recently said in a statement, “Detective Grant is still undergoing physical therapy for his arm, and it's much better,” KOAT reports.
Garcia has resumed her work, and Brachle still has his job, but is working at a desk.
After more than six months, Albuquerque Police are still investigating why Brachle fired his gun.
Grant is planning to sue the Albuquerque Police Department because he that Brachle knew who he was, the clothing he was wearing and his position inside the car.
Grant also alleges that Brachle hit him twice, got into a new position and kept firing.
The Albuquerque Police Department made news last year after fatally shooting an unarmed homeless man, which Police Chief Gorden Eden claimed was justified.
