Ex-Ford Contractor Claims He Was Fired For Pro-Christian, Anti-Gay Comments

| by Michael Allen

Thomas Banks claims he was fired after voicing his religious objections about Ford supporting LGBT people in August 2014.

Banks recently filed a lawsuit against Ford and his employer Rapid Global Business Solutions, which is a contractor for Ford.

He had worked on site for Ford for over three years in Dearborn, Michigan.

Banks read an article on the Ford intranet about the company's pro-LGBT policies and posted a comment:

Endorsing and promoting sodomy is of benefit to no one. This topic is disruptive to the workplace and is an assault on Christians and morality, as well as antithetical to our design and our survival. Immoral sexual conduct should not be a topic for an automotive manufacturer to endorse or promote.

Banks claims that Ford officials met with him, verified that he wrote the comment, informed him that he violated Ford's anti-harassment rule and terminated his project, notes the Detroit Free Press.

Rapid Global Business Solutions reportedly fired Banks for violating their policies.

In his lawsuit, Banks claims his civil rights were violated because he voiced his Christian beliefs, notes CBS Detroit.

Both companies have not commented because they have not reviewed the lawsuit.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission refused to go after the companies after Banks filed a complaint.
