Bristol Palin, the adult daughter of former half-term Republican Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska, announced today on her blog that she is pregnant.

Bristol, who already has one child by ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston, wrote on her blog, "I wanted you guys to be the first to know that I am pregnant."

Bristol later added, "I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you."

"But please respect Tripp’s and my privacy during this time. I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy."

However, Bristol made a good amount of money lecturing others about teen pregnancy when she worked for The Candie's Foundation in 2009.

The Associated Press reported in 2011 that Bristol made more than $262,000 (per the charity research firm GuideStar) to raise awareness about teen pregnancy prevention.

In a video (below) for The Candie's Foundation, Bristol lectured: "Pause before you play."

In 2009, Bristol was 18 years old and had recently given birth to Tripp.

During a Fox News interview in 2009, Bristol said, "Everyone should be abstinent or whatever but it’s not realistic at all," noted The Washington Post.
