Airplane Passenger Curses At Texas Governor For Gay Marriage Stance

| by Michael Allen

Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas was confronted by an unidentified man in a New York airport on July 14.

Abbott's communications director Matt Hirsch claims the man said, “I hope you … go to hell because of your stance on gay marriage,” notes the Austin American-Statesman.

RawStory.com reports (via the pay wall section of the Austin American-Statesman) that the man was bumped off his flight with Abbott, booked into a hotel and placed on a flight on July 15.

After the U.S. Supreme Court legalized gay marriage in June, the New York Daily News reported: "Some, like Govs. Bobby Jindal and Greg Abbott, have promised to fight that ruling citing religious freedom and state rights that they believe should supersede a Supreme Court ruling."
