| by DeepDiveAdmin

Two 'A' Names - Ava and Aiden - Top the List

Ava and Aiden secured the number one slots in BabyNames.com's Top 10 Baby Names of 2008 list. The Web site compiles its names from members' favorite name lists. The list often predicts future birth name trends, since its members are either pregnant or planning a family.

In addition to biblical names making a comeback, "L" names Landon, Liam and Lucas made the boys's top ten, suggesting a new "L" trend emerging for boys. Logan, Luke and Levi were also in the top 100 names.

On the girls' side, conservative, traditional names are gaining momentum. The name Isabella rose from #5 to #2, which BabyNames.com founder Jennifer Moss attributes to the popularity of the Twilight book series by Stephenie Meyer.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

"Twilight's heroine is named Isabella Swan, but she goes by Bella," says Moss. "Both Isabella and Bella rose significantly on the girls' chart, which shows that beloved characters can have just as much an influence on baby names as celebrities."
