With college football at the halfway point of the regular season, things are about to get real, and it’s time for teams to pull out their respective genitals. Here’s a look at some of Saturday’s most appetizing match ups, although it’s hard telling what story line we will be talking about after the dust settles.
This game is more intriguing because of the upset bug that has bitten the #1 team the last two weeks. Will the Ducks fall victim against a Jeckyll and Hyde Bruins team that spanked Texas in Austin, but also got drilled by Cal amongst the hippies in Berkeley?
#8 Michigan State (7-0) at Northwestern (5-1), noon
Although the Wildcats are 5-1, the best win on their resume is a season-opening road victory over Vandy. The Wildcats, however, have been a pesky bunch for the Big 10′s elite, as late last season they knocked off Wisconsin and won at Iowa. Sparty hopes to keep the undefeated dream alive before next week’s big showdown in Iowa City.

#10 Wisconsin (6-1) at #13 Iowa (5-1), 3:30PM
Sconnie tries to avoid a let down after knocking off the Suckeyes last week. Iowa has been flying somewhat under the radar in the Big 10, but have a chance to make some noise with home games over the next month against the Badgers, Spartans, and Ohio State.
#6 LSU (7-0) at #5 Auburn (7-0), 3:30PM
LSU has been hearing all season about how lucky they have been to remain undefeated. The Mad Hatter and his Bayou Bengals have a chance to prove they belong in the national title talk when they travel to The Plains to take on Superman Cam Newton and Auburn. Both teams have survived several tight games, but such is life in the SEC. Even with a loss, either of teams have a chance to stay in the race, as both still have ‘Bama on the schedule.

#14 Nebraska at #17 Oklahoma State, 3:30PM
After Bo Pelini and his giant schnozz got taken down by the Longhorns last week, his club will no doubt be pissed off coming into the land of orange clad cowboy boot stompers. The jury remains out on Okie State as legit, although they did handle Texas Tech quite nicely last week in Lubbock.
#3 Oklahoma (6-0) at #18 Missouri (6-0), 8PM
No one questions that the Sooners are for real, but Mizzou has plenty of skeptics, as they are the lowest rated remaining unbeaten. In his 10th year, Tiger coach Gary Pinkel has never beat Oklahoma, but he also hasn’t shown a defense this good. Mizzou took Texas A&M behind the woodshed last weekend in College Station.
