Thailand: From Political to Human Rights Crisis?

| by Amnesty International

Thailand’s political standoff continues to escalate and threatens to develop into a human rights crisis. On May 13, we saw another spike in violence when an army general associated with the protestors was shot and a protestor was killed.

One month ago, 25 people (both protestors and security forces) were killed in violent clashes. The situation further escalated today, with disturbing footage and reports coming out of Bangkok. Among those wounded today was reportedly a French journalist who was shot in the leg.
