The stepmother of missing Oregon boy Kyron Horman made a rare public appearance on Wednesday, showing up in court regarding her impending divorce. The last extending glimpse of Terri Horman was at a news conference shortly after Kyron disappeared on June 4th.
Terri, her divorce lawyer, her criminal attorney and three sheriff's deputies came up through a back elevator of the Multnomah County Circuit Court, walking past a throng of TV cameras, news photographers, and reporters without saying a word.
Divorce lawyer Peter Bunch has argued in earlier motions that it would be impossible to proceed with the divorce case, considering the ongoing criminal investigation into Kyron's disappearance, as well as the “intense scrutiny and speculation” into his client.
But Kaine Horman’s lawyer has countered that Terri is stalling to “avoid possible self-incrimination."

Terri was the last person to see Kyron following a science fair at his school. But police say Terri and her good friend DeDe Spicher were both unaccounted for during a three-hour period that day.
Kaine left Terri on June 28th, filing for divorce and obtaining a restraining order against his wife, two days after police told him Terri was allegedly involved in a plot to hire someone to kill him.
