A California teenager has been arrested for binding a woman with duct tape and raping her for several hours.
Deputies responded to a call of a sexual assault in Hesperia on March 15, KTLA 5 reported. When they arrived at the home, they found 18-year-old Charles Toland -- and a woman lying on the floor in another room.
The female’s hands, feet and mouth were bound with duct tape, according to a news release from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department. She suffered several injuries and told authorities she had been beaten and raped for hours.
Toland knew the woman’s family from several years prior. He had reached out to her for a place to stay for the night after moving back into town.
The woman agreed to let Toland stay at her home and that’s when the attack occurred, according to investigators.
Toland was arrested on suspicion of torture, kidnapping for the purpose of rape, penetration with a foreign object and attempted murder, the news release stated.
The woman was taken to an area hospital and treated for her injuries.
