Video: Facebook Counting Links Sent in Private Messages as 'Likes'

| by Michael Allen

A video (below) published on shows how social media Facebook scans private messages between friends and automatically counts any links within messages as 'likes.'

This could be exploited by internet marketers who are trying to get a large umber of 'likes,' simply by trading private messages back and forth between fake Facebook accounts, possibly up to 1,800 an hour.

While the extra 'likes' won't drive extra people to a web site, the 'likes' would give the false impression of popularity.
