Undercover Investigation: Online Guns Easy to Buy

Anti-gun New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced the results of an undercover investigation into illegal guns sales on the Internet. It turns out it is quite easy to buy a gun online, especially on Craigslist.

Investigators found gun sellers online and then called them. The New York Daily News reports that 77 of 125 people were willing to sell guns even when the so-called buyer said he could not pass a background check.

“I probably couldn’t either!” said one laughing Arizona seller caught on audio tape.

Bloomberg said sellers on Craigslist were the worst -- 14 of 17 failed the “integrity test” and agreed to sell guns to someone who said he couldn’t buy one from a licensed dealer.

“Craigslist really needs to clean up its act,” Bloomberg said.
