DiGiorno Pizza Slammed for Tweet, Apologizes Profusely

| by Michael Allen

DiGiorno Pizza tried to jump on the #whyistayed hashmark that appeared on Twitter last night after a video of Ray Rice punching his then-fiancee (present wife ) Janay Palmer was uploaded on the web.

The #whyistayed hashmark was posted by women in support of Palmer who married Rice even though he knocked her unconscious in an Atlantic City elevator last February.

According to Mic.com, DiGiorno Pizza tweeted:

#whyistayed You had pizza.

The tweet was quickly deleted and DiGiorno Pizza tweeted:

A million apologies. Did not read what the hashtag was about before posting.

But the damage was done and Twitter users pounded DiGiorno Pizza for its mistake. In response, the pizza company has issued numerous, personalized apologies to everyone it offended, noted AdWeek.com.
