City of Philadelphia Web Site Shows Names, Addresses, Appeals for Gun Permits

| by Michael Allen

Philadelphia’s Department of Licenses and Inspections recently debuted a new web site that displays various information about the city, reports The Philly Post.

Surprisingly, the web site also displays a  list of Philadelphians who have been denied a gun permit, or had their gun permit revoked, and are filing appeals.

The appeal info shows the person's name, address and the reason for appeal.

Here are a few examples from the web site. We have chosen not to include last names or addresses, which the web site does provide.

Name: Daniel *****
Address: ********
Grounds: I forgot about a prior arrest which occurred when I was a juvenile. I also did not know that I was permitted to answer any questions regarding expungement.

Name: Jamal *****
Address: *****
Grounds: I was wrongly accused of being a bartender. I was not arrested or charged with any crime.

Name: Ronald  *****
Address: *****
Grounds: I am pastor of a church; I carry large sums of money to bank at least 2-3 times a week. As a businessman, I was robbed once. I could very well be a target for the automobile I drive and my appearance.
