Video: New York City Airports to Use 'Virtual' Holograms Instead of People

| by Michael Allen

New customer service hologram avatars will soon be appearing in New York City area airports, but some are wondering if this new tech creation is creepy or cool?

In a  promo video (below), the new avatar lists all the reasons she’s superior to human workers, including "I never take a break, don't charge overtime, hardly ever take sick leave, and I don't need a background check!"

The Village Voice reports on more of her lines:

“I can say what you want, dress the way you want, and be just about anything you want me to be!"

"I am the latest and greatest in next generation public guidance and advertising!"

"I'm so versatile, I could be used for just about anything!"

What the hologram doesn't mention is how she is getting rid of human laborers who currently give information at the airports.
