'Snapchat' Causes Photos to Disappear After 10 Seconds, Teens May use New App for Sexting

| by Michael Allen

A new time-sensitive app. for teenagers, called 'Snapchat, causes photos to fade away.

Senders of Snapchat photos may choose how long they want their recipients to see photos, up to 10 seconds, before they disappear from their cellphone, reports Buzzfeed.com.

Some say the app. is popular with underage teens who practice sexting to each other, but do not want to be embarrassed by the picture ending up on the web and do not want to be charged with a crime.

In response, Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel has stated that he doesn't think teens will use it for sexting: "The minute you tell someone that images on your server disappear, everyone jumps to sexting. I just don’t know people who do that. It doesn’t seem that fun when you can have real sex.”
