"Teddy the Guardian" is a new stuffed animal that is filled with fluff, as well as electronic devices and sensors that measure a child's heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and temperature.

Teddy connects to the child's parents' smartphones via Bluetooth and sends them medical data about their offspring (video below).

However, the kid must be touching Teddy with a finger or placing Teddy’s paw on his or her forehead.

The toy also provides health information to doctors when the child is healthy and ill for comparison, notes Fast Company.

Teddy, invented by IDerma in Croatia, recently received FDA approval and sells for $69.
