Maybe it’s just me, but isn’t it a little early to be throwing out ’2011 in review material?’ First, Bing brought us their lists of most searched in 2011, and now Yahoo! has posted their top 10 searches for the year that still is, and will be for another month. Granted, the list probably isn’t going to change in the next month, but hey, you never know. Maybe they’re setting a precedent now so they can get their world in review material up early next year before the world ends. I don’t know.
Popular VideoSNL is not a fan of the Trump administration, and it shows with every new skit they produce. Do you think they need to tone it down?
Anyway, tech took the top spot in 2011 for Yahoo, with rampant iPhone 5 rumors and the iPhone 4S launch catapulting the iPhone to the top of the Yahoo! searches list. We hope Siri won’t be too insufferable about it. Rounding out the top 10 were the big news stories of the year – the messy, high-profile Casey Anthony trial, the death of Osama Bin Laden, and the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami. Everything else? Celebrities, from the self-destructive (see: Lohan, Lindsay) to the resurgent Jennifer Lopez, enjoying her new stint on an also resurgent American Idol and the title of People’s Most Beautiful Woman 2011.
You can check out the full list here. And, who knows, with the iPhone 5 most likely coming out for real next year, we might just see the iPhone defend its title this time in 2012.
