With the iPhone 5S and 5C going on sale last month, its only makes sense that rumors and speculations start circulating about the next iPhone. The biggest rumor of all? The “iPhone 6’s” bigger, better screen.
Although the iPhone 5s remains to be much more portable than some of its competitors like the Samsung Galaxy 4S and the Nokia Lumia 920, one of its downfalls is the 4-inch screen that remains smaller in comparison to other phones. But one research analyst speculated Monday that Apple might follow suit.
“The iPhone 6 will likely have a new design and a 4.8” display,” Peter Misek, an analyst at Jefferies LLC, wrote in a note to investors.
An iPhone with a 4.8-inch screen would put it roughly with the Moto X and HTC One, which both have a 4.7-inch screen. However, it would still be smaller than the Sansung Galaxy’s S4’s 5-inch display.

Apple’s move to a bigger screen may be a step in the right direction. According to the market research firm IDC, nearly 40 percent of smartphones shipped worldwide in the first half of this year had screens larger than 4 inches, a 24 percent increase from last year.
“When it comes right down to it, there’s a certainly demand, and Apple just leaves that market to its competition,” Ramon Llamas, research manager for mobile phones at IDC told The Huffington Post.
Among other iPhone 6 rumors are a possible curved or flexible screen and a storage capacity of 128 GB, an impressive jump from the iPhone 5S’s 64GB storage capacity, Pocket-lint.com reports.
Of course, this is all still just speculation. Jefferies predicts the iPhone 6 won’t come out until September 2014.
