A cell phone thief in New York got arrested after emailing a picture of himself back to the rightful owner using the stolen phone.

According the New York Post, 19-year-old Albert Wilson and some friends surrounded a 16-year-old boy Saturday night in the Bronx, New York. The gang told the victim to empty his pockets, and when he handed over his Samsung Galaxy Epic smart phone, they ran off with it.

Later on, possibly in an attempt to show off his newly-acquired gadget to friends, Wilson apparently took a picture of himself with the phone. What he didn't realize at the time, however, is that the victim had set up the phone preferences to automatically email him the photos taken with his smart phone.

The victim took the photo to police, who were then able to identify Wilson, track him down, and arrest him.
