The first flying bike has proven that it can indeed fly after the 220-pound bicycle made a trip around a large warehouse.

The bike was the joint effort of Technodat, Evektor and Duratec companies in Prague.

They flew the bike with a dummy in the seat and watched as it rose several feet off the ground and fly steadily around the room for a few minutes.

It runs by six horizontal fans and is radio controlled. Each of the fans is run by a separate battery, and right now the bike can only fly for five minutes at a time.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

This is largely because the bike is so heavy and its larger profile. But now that the developers have proven it can fly, they are going to begin streamlining it and preparing it for a human.

Ales Kobylik, who was involved in the development, said they were not inspired to make it for money.

"Our main motivation in working on the project was neither profit nor commercial interest, but the fulfillment of our boyish dreams," he said.

Their goal is to have a new version developed by the end of the year. A great challenge in their goal is how they will manage to add power to the bike without increasing weight.
