You wouldn’t know it by looking at it, but the South by Southwest annual music, film and interactive festival is actually a hook-up spot, many referring to it as the spring break for geeks.

One company recently launched an app to take advantage of the culture. Called “Bang with Friends,” it allows you to sign up for the service through Facebook and select people you’d like to have sex with. If the person also selects you, then you set up a time and place to meet.

It was launched at the end of January and has already gained 750,000 users, with 180,000 people successfully matched.

It also has a version for people not attending SXSW.

They admit that it is not hard to find people to hook up with at the festival, but that using the app helps people focus on safer sex. The company handed out thousands of condoms across the city.

This isn’t the only app the cater to SXSW’s sexual needs. Social network Qpid relies on SXSW as a way to share sexual health status and help people have safe sex.
