Suspect booked in Galleria arson that caused $6.5 million in damages

The man suspected of setting fire to the Westfield Galleria Mall, causing $6.5 million in damages, has been booked into Placer County jail on suspicion of arson.

Alexander Piggee, 23, no permanent address, also faces charges of arson under conditions likely to cause great bodily injury and causing damages and losses in excess of $6.5 million, burglary (entering a building with the intent to commit a felony), and making criminal threats, according to a release from the Roseville Police Department. He is being held without bail. His arraignment is scheduled for 1 p.m. on October 25.
