A producer for the hit reality show "Survivor" is in real-life drama of his own -- police say he is a suspect in the death of his wife. Mexican officials confirm Bruce Beresford-Redmond is being held as a suspect.

Beresford-Redmond and his wife Monica were on vacation in the resort town of Cancun, where a witness at their hotel said he saw the couple arguing on Sunday. He told police his wife went out shopping on Monday, and never returned.

Monica's body was found in a sewer at the swanky Moon Palace resort on Thursday, where the couple and their two children were staying, according to an official at the office of the attorney general for Quintana Roo state, where Cancun is located.

Los Angeles television station KCAL spoke with Beresford-Redman on the phone Wednesday. He told them he could not talk long, saying he wanted to keep the phone lines clear.

“I’m very hopeful someone will find my wife very soon,” he said. “She still hasn’t been located and we’re looking.”

The family was set to leave Mexico on Thursday, which would have been Monica's birthday.
