example of how many of our government offices try to control what we do into conforming to their "standards". In this case, conformity through education . For all we know, that teacher may have deserved it, but instead they target the students without apparently getting to the bottom of it and getting the facts. All because the students did not voice their opinion the PC way, even though their complaints would have been very unlikely looked into as it is. So, they did the next best thing to get their point across. Who knows. It seems that a lot of times these school systems operate in a gray area manipulating rules and practices to fit their needs when they feel like it and when it suits them. I know in my area, the individual county school boards are fairly free to do whatever they want and do not exactly answer to the state level school board. In my area, the county school boards have entirely too much autonomy.

The activities by these kids , while reprehensible, took place off school property and outside of school hours. Educators do not have the right to tell students how to behave at home, that`s why God made parents. If I was the father I`d drag the schools superintendent into court AND pull my kids from his school. Teachers do not and should not have any undue influence after the three o`clock bell rings.
