Steven Tyler: Fellow "American Idol" Judge J-Lo is "Street"

| by Oh The Scandal

The new season of American Idol is fast approaching, and anticipation is building over what new recruits Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez will be like behind the judges’ table.

If you expect them to feud, be at each other’s throats and swing handbags, you’re out of luck.

It turns out President Trump's budget has $2 trillion error in it:

In fact, the Aerosmith frontman has only good things to say about J-Lo.

He dished to Usmagazine.com: First and foremost, she’s a lady and she’s not afraid to show that at any given time…She’s ridiculous. You know, she’s exactly what I thought she’d be. She’s street.”

Tyler also said that he finds Lopez’s honesty with the contestants incredible, but admits to having some difficulty behind the judges’ table himself.

It’s hard when you have a kid who’s 15-years-old, who’s been watching American Idol for the last 10 years,” he said. And some of them were awful. I just say something like, ‘Did you bump your head on the way in?’”

Despite how "awful" some of the contestants can be, Tyler doesn’t plan to follow in Simon Cowell’s famously snarky footsteps.

“I’m really not one for giving insults, he told the magazine. They have a voice and I don’t want them not singing to their kids when they grow up.”

American Idol returns to Fox on January 19.

It looks like it’ll be an interesting dynamic this year, bit of a new show, bit of a new angle.
