At only 21 years old, Anthony Davis is becoming one of the best players in the NBA. His numbers continue to get better, and as time passes, the New Orleans Pelicans player adds more and more skills to his repertoire.

Davis stands at 6 feet 10 inches, weighs 245 pounds and has a wingspan of more than 7 feet 5 inches. If nothing else, he is an intimidating player. But that is not what it’s all about when it comes to the former Kentucky Wildcat.

Davis is averaging 24.5 points per game, which is fourth in the NBA, while also averaging 10.3 rebounds. His ability to play like a big man in the paint, but also step back and shoot from mid-range has made him almost impossible to guard.

If you haven’t taken the time to watch Davis play, you are missing out. His tremendous play this season, which has earned him a spot on the starting five for the All-Star game, has kept the New Orleans Pelicans in the brink of a playoff spot. They are currently one game out of a playoff spot, behind the eighth seed, Phoenix Suns.

Davis has already collected 29 double-doubles this season, and he has scored at least 30 points in 12 games, including a season-high 43 against in Utah in November, and 41 against the Thunder on Feb. 6.

The 41 points came in a huge win against the Thunder. Oklahoma City is right behind the Pelicans in the Western Conference and both teams are battling for the eighth playoff spot. Davis sealed the game with yet another unbelievable highlight. This time, Davis hit a buzzer-beater, double-clutch, three-pointer over Kevin Durant to give the Pelicans the win. It was Davis’ first three-pointer all season.

Davis will only continue to get better as he learns more about the game, and that should be an exciting thought for the fans, but a scary one for the rest of the NBA.
