Twin Carries Sister Across Finish Line

A crowd cheered two runners across the finish line at a middle school track meet in Illinois over the weekend after one fell and was carried across the finish line by the other.

Twin sisters Chloe and Claire Gruenke were competing in the 800-meter race when Chloe felt something pop and fell to the ground.

“I thought oh my goodness what just happened,” Claire said. “I went up to her and I said ‘Chloe are you okay?’”

When Chloe responded that she had pulled something in her leg, Claire lifted Chloe onto her back and jogged to the finish line.

Pictures of the two went viral on social media last week.

“They didn’t win the race, but they won the hearts of everyone in the audience,” Ted Crail, their coach, said.
