Qatar World Cup In 2022 To Be Played In November and December

| by Daniel Yancelson

According to various sources, FIFA has decided to play the 2022 Qatar World Cup in November and December instead of the tournament’s usual summer dates due to the hot temperatures in the country.

Qatar reaches up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer, so FIFA decided to fix the problem by moving it to a later time. The only dilemma is that by fixing this problem, FIFA has brought a host of problems upon itself.

Most major soccer leagues like La Liga in Spain, the English Premier League and the Bundesliga in Germany, all will have their own seasons running through the World Cup. Usually the World Cup happens during the league’s offseason in the summer, but with the World Cup being moved, local leagues will have problems wth scheduling.

Will the leagues change their schedules to fit with the World Cup, or will they have to play without most of their stars on the pitch? These leagues have contracts with television rights, sponsors and ticket sales and sales will definitely decrease if Bayern Munich has to play a game without their usual starting lineup because they are playing with their national teams.

FIFA will have a great deal of things to figure out before 2022, but for now, we will be looking forward to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
