Euro 2012 Video: Spain Beats Portugal on PKs; Ronaldo Left Stunned, Angry

| by Alex Groberman

Spain defeated Portugal 4-2 via penalty kicks on Wednesday after Cesc Fabregas knocked home the game-winning score off the crossbar. Thanks to his clutch play, Fabregas’ team will now advance to face the winner of Thursday’s showdown between Germany and Italy.

As Fabregas and his teammates ran around, jubilantly celebrating their victory – Cristiano Ronaldo was left standing on the pitch, wondering what if. Despite the fact that he had several opportunities to win the game for his side, he never actually got a chance to do it in penalty kicks. He had been penciled in to go fifth and, obviously, it never got that far.

Check out Fabregas’ game-winning kick and Ronaldo subsequent reaction in the SportsGrid video below.
