Darron Gibson Leads Everton Past Manchester City

Everton pulled the upset of the day as they grabbed a 1-0 win over EPL leaders Manchester City Tuesday at Goodison Park. The difference was a 60th minute blast from Darron Gibson that sent the home crowd bonkers. Landon Donovan got the assist on the goal as he continues to turn impressive displays. He has five assists in his seven games in England.

Meanwhile, both the other top three sides won their matches on the day. Tottenham used another dominant performance from Gareth Bale to dispatch bottom feeders Wigan 3-1. Bale had a pair of goals in the game while midfield general Luka Modric had a goal and assist on the night. Manchester United moved back even with City thanks to their comfortable 2-0 defeat of Stoke. Goals on either side of halftime from Chicharito and Berbatov provided the margin of victory.

Chelsea scrounged an own goal in stoppage time to salvage a point against upstarts Swansea. It looked like Chelsea were headed to another poor result until the Neil Taylor own goal.

Liverpool put on a good display in claiming the three points by smashing Wolves 3-0 behind a pair of assists from Charlie Adam. Dirk Kuyt, Andy Carroll and Craig Bellamy were on target for the winners. Liverpool moves up to 5th with the win.
