If you ask ten people on the street whether they can think of anything harder than being an Olympic athlete, maybe six of them will come up with some sort of answer. Of those six, maybe three will actually have a good answer. And of those three, none will come up with the thing that Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones came up with when she told HBO what in her eyes was tougher than training for the Olympics.
What was it? Keeping one's virginity, of course.
Via NBC Sports:
“It’s just a gift I want to give to my husband. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. Harder than training for the Olympics. Harder than graduating college. … I’ve had guys tell me, if you have sex it will help you run faster.”
Jones, 29, finished seventh in the 100m hurdles back in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Presumably, what with the fact that she has so much free time to practice and all, she’ll do better in the 2012 Games.
