Don’t look now, but Justin Gatlin is back.
Two years removed from the end of a doping ban that cost him an appearance at the Beijing Olympics, Gatlin looked like he was ready to make up for lost time this past Sunday – ultimately winning the 100 meters at the U.S. Olympic trials in an impressive 9.80 seconds. Tyson Gay finished right behind him at 9.86 seconds – a time that figures to improve as he continues to work himself back into game shape following his hip surgery. Ryan Bailey finished in third with a time of 9.93 seconds.
