A middle school boys basketball team suffered a heartbreaking loss on Monday.
The Riley County Falcons were playing the Rock Creek Mustangs in a championship game in the Kansas Mid-East eighth-grade boys basketball league, noted Sporting News.
The Falcons were beating the Mustangs 26-25 when a Mustangs player got off one final shot with only seconds left (video below).
Unfortunately, the ball got stuck between the rim and the backboard.
According to TotalSports.com, the referee ordered a jump ball, but the game clock had expired so the Falcons won.
Oddly, the Mustangs' cheerleaders let out a cheer after the painful loss.
