High School Baseball Coach Suspended for Angry Rant

| by Michael Allen

Baseball coach Thomas Brooks was suspended today from La Mirada High School in California after a profanity-filled audio tape of him screaming at his players surfaced.

Brooks has admitted it is his voice on the recording, which happened after an 8-4 loss on April 26.

The audio recording (here) features Brooks repeatedly using the F-word at his players, notes NBC Los Angeles.

"You can't f----- dive for a ball in the infield? F--- you!" Brooks yells. "Can't make a routine play? F--- you! You gonna f------ piss and moan at the f------ umpire? F--- you! Get off the g------- mound! I want a man out there. This isn’t f------- little boys’ baseball. It’s f------ time to grow the f--- up.”

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

Brooks also suggested that his players to transfer to another school.

“If you don’t get it, f------- get out. Get the f--- out! That’s the way it’s been, and that’s the way it’s gotta be until I f------- die,” Brooks screams. “If you don’t like it, it’s easy to transfer.”

“My language was inappropriate,” Brooks told the Whittier Daily News today. “I was trying to motivate my team after a very poor performance, and I apologize about the language.”

The Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District said in a statement today that it "received a copy of a recording of high school teacher and Athletic Director Thomas Brooks. The District appreciates the serious nature of the content of the recording, and as such is conducting a full investigation into the matter. Pending completion of the investigation, Mr. Brooks will remain on paid administrative leave in order to preserve the integrity of the investigation process."

La Mirada High School principal Bill Seals said today that a replacement had been selected to coach the team.
